Rottnest Grand Island Tour

Visit spectacular Rottnest Island, the “Emerald Isle in a Sea of Sapphire”, only 19 kilometres off the mainland coast. Join the most comprehensive guided tour of the island allowing you to explore the stunning beauty of this A-Class natural reserve in air-conditioned comfort, taking in the amazing fauna and flora of the island, stunning beaches, woodlands and incredible salt lakes – commencing with a unique historic train ride.

This 4-hour all-inclusive island tour takes in all of Rottnest’s must-see locations featuring Jeannie’s Lookout, Wadjemup Lighthouse, Oliver Hill Gun Fortification & Tunnels and the majestic look-out point at Mabel Cove.

All major habitats are covered on this amazing tour, including Rottnest’s cultural and historical heritage ranging from maritime and military history right up to future developments. Finish the day by exploring the island settlement or enjoy a drink at the Hotel Rottnest Pub.

Please note:

  • The Oliver Hill Guns and Tunnels part of the Grand Island Tour is a physically demanding 45-minute tour with approximately 700 metres walking and 240+ uneven steps (equivalent to a 8-storey climb).  There are no rest stops and no backtracking once inside.

  • No carrying of children is permitted except for small infants in baby carriers (which allow the accompanying adult to have both hands free for the railings in the tunnels). Prams are not permitted in the tunnels.

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • The tour takes place in enclosed tunnels. Please watch for low ceilings, uneven surfaces and other trip hazards, and follow guide instructions at all times.

Due to the impact of the Middle Eastern conflict on fuel prices, we have been forced to put a temporary fuel surcharge in place of an additional $1.00 per person.  This currently applies to our Rottnest island services only and will help combat the rising costs involved with purchasing and delivering fuel to this offshore location.  This surcharge will be applied to your online cart upon booking.
